 HISTORY

Gannon & Scott was founded in 1919 in Providence, RI by former office manager John Gannon and partner Fred P. Scott. From those early days, Gannon & Scott has grown into a world leader in providing the latest in customized precious metals refining, reclamation and physical/intellectual property destruction services to world leaders in a variety of fields.

Gannon & Scott was one of the first businesses to recognize the rapidly expanding capabilities of metal refinement technology. In the 1960’s, the expansion of the space program brought about a boom in both the electronic and personal computing industries which lead to an increased demand for precious metals. Gannon & Scott helped fill that need as it went through great lengths to invest in itself. The result was a period of growth for Gannon & Scott that has yet to subside.

In 1985, Gannon & Scott designed and built their Rhode Island facility. The company continued to expand its facilities in the 90's to accommodate the increasing market demand for its services, first expanding its headquarters in 1995 and then again in 1999, bringing the total square footage of their home facility to 43,000 square feet.

In 2000, Gannon & Scott acquired a 42,000 square foot Phoenix, AZ precious metals processing facility. This state-of-the-art facility nearly doubled Gannon & Scott's capacity. Recently celebrating its 90th Anniversary, the widespread use of precious metals and their increasing value has changed the face of Gannon & Scott from a small operation servicing a local industry to a truly global organization.

Today, Gannon & Scott continues to grow, expanding its influence into the global marketplace, boasting a truly international presence. Operating one of the highest capacity processing facilities in the United States, the company continues to set the industry standard for precious metals refining.
