“After 27 years of service, it is time for a new chapter in my life.”
Since January of 1994, Donna Schupack has been guiding customers through their precious metal refining process, from helping to arrange deliveries to making sure their final settlements are completed. After fielding countless phone calls, internal conversations, and emails, she is retiring from Gannon & Scott this month.
Donna shared recently, “I will miss the relationships I’ve made. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people.”
Customers will miss her positive and enthusiastic approach to customer service. “We’re the voice of the customer, and it’s our job to make sure they get the information they need to make sure their business is running effectively,” she notes. Over the past few months, Donna has been spending her time transitioning customers to Susan Barnatowicz and industry veteran Christina Rodrigues. She shares, “I’m confident our customers will be in excellent hands.”
“We’re going to miss her,” said CEO Joe Peixoto. “I’m specifically going to miss how she would come into my office with a customer request or issue; they could not ask for a better advocate. Donna would not leave my office without a solution, and ‘no’ was never an option. She constantly pushed us to be better. We can’t express exactly how much she has meant to Gannon & Scott over the past 27 years.”
“My husband and I have been planning this for a long time, and I will be excited to wake up that first day and “do whatever we want,” said Donna. “Traveling is one of the many items on our bucket list.”
Her favorite memory at Gannon & Scott may indicate what retirement will be like for Donna and her husband. “When I started working here in 1994, I was asked to be on the planning committee for Gannon & Scott’s 75th Anniversary celebration. We went in a limo to the then brand-new Providence Convention Center, where we sampled and selected the menu for the party. It was a great night, and I couldn’t believe how fortunate I was to be able to work for such a wonderful company.”
In 2019 Donna celebrated another milestone with Gannon & Scott - their 100th-Anniversary. “I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to work here. I am one of the lucky ones that knew Jack Gannon and worked with him for many years. His generosity and concern for his employees were unique and unheard-of in today’s business world. He truly treated all of us like family. Although this is the 6th anniversary of Jack’s passing, he would be proud that his children, Margaret and David, have continued all of his exceptional business philosophies and practices, which includes taking such
